On May 28, he Sejong RISE Project Group at Korea University Sejong Campus hosted the "AX Competency Enhancement Employment and Startup Support Camp" over two days beginning at Forest Lesoem Resort in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, for students enrolled in the Sejong Handuri Campus program.
The Sejong Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) initiative, referred to hereafter as the Sejong RISE Project, aims to achieve co-growth between the region and its universities by cultivating human resources aligned with local industry needs and building a sustainable innovation ecosystem through collaboration between universities and the community.
Handuri Campus, the flagship initiative of the Sejong RISE Project, supports student competency development and the cultivation of locally rooted human resources by facilitating the sharing of educational and research resources among participating universities in the region and operating a range of extracurricular programs.
The camp was organized to help students develop AI Transformation (AX) competencies demanded in the era of digital transition and to strengthen their readiness for employment and entrepreneurship.
Approximately twenty students enrolled in the Sejong Handuri Campus participated in the camp, which centered on AX-based startup lectures and expert mentoring sessions. Students explored real-world applications of AI and digital transformation technologies in industry, examined current startup trends, and used one-on-one mentoring with field experts to map out career paths and refine their entrepreneurial ideas.
The program was structured to deepen participants' understanding of future industry shifts and to cultivate both problem-solving capabilities using AX technologies and an entrepreneurial mindset. Students engaged actively in lectures and mentoring sessions, gaining practical opportunities to strengthen their employment and startup competencies.
A representative of the Sejong RISE Project Group at Korea University Sejong Campus stated, "We hope this camp proved a meaningful opportunity for students to build practical AX skills and entrepreneurial readiness," adding, "We will continue to operate a diverse range of educational and extracurricular programs to help students respond proactively to the evolving landscape of future industries."
